As someone who has always loved airplanes (but never wanted to fly one), I jumped at the chance to volunteer at the Fly-In. The first year (has it really been more than 20 years ago?), I worked a shift in the retail kiosk just outside of the Stearman office. The next year, I worked a couple of shifts in the office. . .and was hooked. Since then, I’ve spent many years managing the office until becoming a member of the board of directors (five of those as president). After a two-year hiatus, I returned to the board in 2019 (there’s just something about the Stearman community – I can’t seem to stay away!).
When not working on Fly-In stuff, I can be found talking corn and soybeans at the Woodhull Co-Op (my day job) or co-chairing the annual Stearman golf outing. Most importantly, I am proud Mom/Ma-in-Law to Amy and Ryan and Grandma Diane to Calvin, Carter and Chloe.
