Aspiring aviators are invited to participate in special children’s activities during the 48th National Stearman Fly-In.

They are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, in the Jet Air, Inc. hangar at Galesburg Municipal Airport.

The event is sponsored in part through a grant from the Galesburg Community Foundation.

On tap are:

  • Presentations at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. by The Storyteller, Hans Nordsiek, Bergeijk, The Netherlands.
  • A flight simulator experience hosted by Ric and Lisa Woldow, Morton, IL. 

  • Make a paper helicopter and fly it. 

  • Create a paper rocket and launch it. 

  • Make a Stearman button to wear. 

  • Face painting. 

  • A complimentary tram ride ticket.
